Gary Anderson has a pipe dream of regaining his World Championship title thanks to a new tie-up with McAlpine & Co. Ltd, the UK’s leading manufacturer of plastic plumbing products.

‘The Flying Scotsman’, as Gary is known, has linked up with the newly-crowned Scottish Family Business of the Year as he prepares to fight to grab back his top status on the oche.

Like Anderson, McAlpine is proud of its Scottish heritage and since 1902 has manufactured all its products in the West of Scotland where the business currently employs 750 people at eight different sites.

Anderson, 47, admitted: “It’s the perfect boost for the start of a new year. McAlpine is a fabulous company with its heart and soul in Scotland and it is no secret that I’m very passionate about my country and I’ve never forgotten my roots. It’s not so long ago I was building fireplaces for a living! McAlpine is a remarkable success story for Scotland and most people in the UK will probably have some McAlpine products installed in their home. I’m delighted to wear the logo of such a proud Scottish company on my shirt in 2018. The business recently won Scottish Family Business of the Year and I hope I can also hold aloft a few trophies this year.”

Anderson began his bid for a third Unibet Premier League title in Dublin after missing out on four successive World Championship finals through a back injury sustained prior to the quarter-finals.
